{"id":24264,"date":"2025-08-26T16:53:06","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T11:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediapbn.com\/?p=24264"},"modified":"2025-08-26T16:53:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T11:23:06","slug":"beas-flood-control-measures-in-place-no-immediate-threat-kapurthala-dc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediapbn.com\/?p=24264","title":{"rendered":"Beas flood control measures in place, no immediate threat: Kapurthala DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Kapurthala (Punjab): In view of the rising water level of the Beas river in the sub-divisions Sultanpur Lodhi and Bholath, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal conducted a thorough inspection of the Dhussi and Advanced embankments on Tuesday to assess the situation and ongoing protective measures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Panchal visited key sites at Kamewal and Baghuwal, where the Drainage department is actively reinforcing the embankments.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He reassured the public, stating, \u201cThe Dhussi and Advanced embankments are fully secure, and our teams are maintaining strict vigilance through continuous patrolling to ensure their stability.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Executive Engineer (XEN) Sartaj Singh Randhawa, who accompanied the Deputy Commissioner, confirmed the embankments\u2019 safety and outlined the department\u2019s proactive measures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cAs a precautionary step, we are strengthening areas where the river water is impacting the embankments. Round-the-clock efforts are underway, including placing sand-filled bags near Peerewal and Kishansingh Wala to reinforce vulnerable sections,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Additionally, crates filled with soil bags are being deployed to prevent erosion and enhance embankment resilience.
