Breaking: Punjab women to receive third installment of financial assistance on Rakhi: CM Mann<\/strong><\/p>\n Chandigarh<\/p>\n Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the third instalment of financial assistance under the \u2018Mavan-Dhiyan Satikar Scheme\u2019 will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible women on the occasion of Rakhi on August 28.<\/p>\n In a video message, Mann said the instalment is generally released on the first day of every month. However, as Rakhi falls on August 28 this year, the government has decided to release the assistance on the festival itself so that women beneficiaries can receive the financial support as a Rakhi gift.<\/p>\n He said beneficiaries would start receiving messages on their mobile phones confirming the transfer of the amount into their bank accounts on Rakhi.<\/p>\n Mann said families currently receiving financial assistance of \u20b93,000 or \u20b94,500 under the scheme would continue to receive the benefit. Newly eligible beneficiaries who registered under the scheme this month would also be covered.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister also praised the contribution of \u2018Satikar Sakhis\u2019, saying they have played an important role in helping needy families access government welfare schemes.<\/p>\n He said many families were unaware of procedures related to filling out forms, obtaining caste certificates, getting Aadhaar cards or opening bank accounts. The \u2018Satikar Sakhis\u2019 stepped forward to assist such families and helped ensure that government benefits reached them.<\/p>\n Mann said their contribution would be duly recognised and honoured by the government.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister said he had been receiving videos from women across Punjab explaining how the financial assistance was helping them manage household expenses, purchase medicines and repay outstanding dues to shopkeepers.<\/p>\n He said the money being distributed under the scheme comes from taxpayers and is being transferred directly to beneficiaries without the involvement of middlemen.<\/p>\n Mann also apologised to the MLA from Khadoor Sahib, the chairman, party office-bearers and workers for being unable to attend a scheduled programme in the constituency.<\/p>\n He said technical problems prevented him from reaching Khadoor Sahib and assured party workers that another programme would be organised there soon, where he would meet them personally.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister urged party volunteers and representatives to stand by needy families in their times of difficulty and prosperity.
