He also confirmed the extension of the Canada Strong Pass through the 2026 holiday season and summer, aiming to continue support for families during key periods of financial strain.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cIn this budget, we will have to make responsible and sometimes difficult choices,\u201d Carney stated. \u201cBut our goal is clear \u2014 to preserve and strengthen programs that uplift those most in need and to build pathways that help Canadians get ahead.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The automatic tax filing system, first introduced under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the 2020 Throne Speech and reaffirmed in the 2023 budget, is now set for phased implementation.
