Scavino succeeds Sergio Gor, who has been designated as the next United States Ambassador to India.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Making the announcement on social media, President Trump praised both officials, saying, \u201cI am pleased to announce that the great Dan Scavino, in addition to remaining Deputy Chief of Staff, will now lead the White House Presidential Personnel Office, replacing Sergio Gor, who did a wonderful job and will now become the Ambassador to India.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Trump added that Scavino would oversee the selection and appointment of government positions, describing it as \u201ca very big and important role.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Dan Scavino, who currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, has been one of Trump\u2019s closest and longest-serving advisors. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt earlier described him as \u201cone of the President\u2019s most trusted aides,\u201d emphasizing that his leadership would help ensure an efficient, \u201cAmerica First-driven\u201d administration.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Sergio Gor, the new Ambassador-designate to India, arrived in New Delhi on Saturday for a six-day visit. During his stay, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to the US Embassy in India, Gor expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral relations. \u201cWe had a positive discussion on a wide range of issues.
