{"id":33423,"date":"2025-10-22T05:26:30","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T08:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bnnweb.com\/?p=1783"},"modified":"2025-10-22T05:26:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T08:56:30","slug":"afghanistans-islamic-emirate-seeks-diplomatic-and-trade-ties-with-united-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediapbn.com\/?p=33423","title":{"rendered":"Afghanistan\u2019s Islamic Emirate seeks diplomatic and trade ties with United States"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Kabul [Afghanistan], October 22, 2025: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has reiterated its willingness to foster positive relations with all nations, including the United States, emphasizing cooperation in political and economic spheres, Tolo News reported.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Speaking to Tolo News, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Afghanistan seeks constructive engagement with Washington based on mutual respect and diplomacy.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe support good relations with all countries, including the U.S., and our relations should rely on two channels: diplomatic and trade,\u201d he stated. \u201cIn this regard, we have always reached out and encouraged the U.S. to engage with us in these areas.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mujahid also responded to recent remarks by the U.S. President about Bagram Airbase, urging the U.S. to instead focus on reopening its embassy in Kabul. \u201cThey sometimes talk about Bagram or other matters. We told them, instead of Bagram, activate your embassy in Kabul. By reopening this diplomatic channel, Afghanistan and the U.S. can have proper and legitimate relations,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The comments come amid reports that the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor recently acknowledged limited cooperation with Afghanistan\u2019s current leadership in counterterrorism efforts.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>International relations expert Mohammad Amin Karim told Tolo News that policy discussions within the U.S. regarding engagement with Afghanistan remain divided. \u201cIn the United States, there is ongoing contention between those who support and those who oppose engagement with the current system in Afghanistan, which has yet to reach a conclusion.
