The hurricane has resulted in the deaths of at least 30 people and has left over one million people homeless. During this time, winds of 185 miles per hour (300 km\/h) battered the island.<\/p>\n<p>Historic Disaster: This is the most destructive storm in Jamaica&#8217;s 174-year history, displacing 500,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>Impact: Widespread flooding and landslides occurred.
