In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Embassy of Iran alleged that US forces had attacked three Indian vessels within a span of less than a week, leading to the deaths of three Indian sailors. The embassy described the incidents as \u201cbrutal\u201d and termed the accusations against Iran an attempt to shift public focus from the fatalities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe US president\u2019s accusation against Iran regarding an Indian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz is simply baseless. It is an attempt to divert public attention from the brutal fact that the US has attacked three Indian vessels in less than a week and killed three innocent Indian sailors,\u201d the embassy stated.<\/p>\n
The remarks came after Trump alleged that Iran was responsible for attacks on vessels carrying Indian crew members near the Strait of Hormuz. He described the incidents as \u201ctotally unacceptable,\u201d despite reports that the US Central Command had acknowledged the strikes were conducted by American naval forces.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry also condemned the attacks on commercial vessels carrying Indian seafarers in the Gulf of Oman. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei expressed condolences to the families of the deceased sailors and extended sympathies to the people and government of India.<\/p>\n
Baqaei accused the United States of engaging in actions that threaten maritime security and international stability, urging the global community to hold Washington accountable for what he described as repeated violations of international norms and the freedom of navigation.<\/p>\n
