Punjab villages at risk after Dhussi Bundh breach in Pakistan
Ferozepur (Punjab), August 20, 2025: A breach has occurred in the Dhussi embankment located across the border near Tedi Wala in Pakistan, raising fears of flooding in several villages of upstream Punjab.
The embankment break is expected to worsen the situation in many villages already reeling under floods along the river. Authorities have warned that water levels may rise further, severely impacting daily life in low-lying areas.
Rescue operations are currently underway at multiple locations, with teams dispatched to the affected areas.
