Protest News- A protest march will be taken out to the AAP office in Tarn Taran to demand the release of their salaries pending for seven months.

Protest News- Thousands of teachers and other employees of all 484 government aided schools in Punjab, along with thousands of pensioners, will hold a massive protest rally on Gandhi Park Railway Road in Tarn Taran on November 1 to protest against the Punjab Finance Department’s failure to release salaries for the state’s aided school employees for seven months. After the rally, all the people gathered there will hold a massive protest march from there to the Aam Aadmi Party office, in which they will strongly demand the withdrawal of the anti-aided school employee letters from finance department of the state government and immediate release of grants to these schools. This decision was taken in the state level meeting of the union, stated Gurmeet Singh Madnipur State President and Gurcharan Singh Chahal State Advisor of the union.

It is noteworthy that due to the audit of the Finance Department, the grants to the aided school employees working under the Grant-in-Aid scheme since 1967 have been stopped from April 2025. The financial condition of thousands of aided school employees has deteriorated due to non-release of grants for seven months. Despite repeated meetings with various ministers and departmental officers, the employees of Tarn Taran constituency have failed in their efforts to get the grants released from the ministers.

There is widespread resentment among the families of 1,700 teachers, other employees and 6,000 retired senior colleagues against the inhuman treatment meted out to the aided school employees by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Finance Minister, Education Minister, Punjab Government, Finance Department, Education Department and Aam Aadmi Party Convener Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. Union leaders said that now, in this difficult economic situation, aided school employees have no choice but to take to the streets and expose the government’s false claims of ‘education revolution’ and conspiracy to close aided schools and to make thousands of aided school employees unemployed and starve during these difficult times.

All senior union leaders have informed the Punjab Government and Administration through a letter that on 1/11/2025, thousands of aided school teachers and other employees from across Punjab, along with all pensioners and senior citizens, will gather for a massive protest at Gandhi Park, Railway Road, Tarn Taran at 10:30 AM, after which a massive protest rally will be taken out from the protest venue to the Aam Aadmi Party office. The Punjab Government and Administration will be fully responsible for any consequences that may arise as a result of this.
