First batch of Haj pilgrims depart for Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: The first batch of pilgrims from Srinagar departed for Medina in Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. Haj is among the five pillars of Islam, with the others being Shahada (faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat (Donation), and Roza (fasting).

Millions of Muslims worldwide set out on the holy pilgrimage to Mecca each year.

Muslims view the spiritual path as extremely important because it enables them to strengthen their faith, establish a connection with Allah, and ask for forgiveness.
