Jalandhar West by-election on July 10

Chandigarh; The Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab Sibin C has informed that voting will be held on July 10 for the Jalandhar West (SC) by-election. The election program has been released by the Election Commission of India in this regard.

Notification will be issued on (Friday) and the last date for filing nominations will be 21st June (Friday). The nomination papers will be scrutinized on June 24 (Monday) while the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is June 26 (Wednesday).

He said that voting will be held on July 10 (Wednesday) and the result will be announced on July 13 (Saturday) after the counting of votes.

Sibin C said that along with the announcement of the by-election, the election code has come into force in Jalandhar district from today i.e. from Monday.

This code will remain in force until the election process is completed by July 15 (Monday). It may be mentioned that this seat fell vacant after the resignation of 34-Jalandhar West (SC) MLA Sheetal Angural.
