Aman Arora hears public grievances during ‘Lok Milni’ outreach in Sunam villages

Sangrur/Sunam, July 13, 2026: Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora on Sunday visited Kila Bhariyan and Bahadurpur villages under the Punjab Government’s ‘Lok Milni’ public outreach programme, interacting with residents and hearing their grievances while assuring them of prompt action on development-related issues.

A large number of villagers welcomed the minister and submitted memoranda highlighting local concerns and demands.

Speaking to the media, Arora said the initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, enables ministers, MLAs and senior officials to visit villages and resolve public grievances at the grassroots level.

He said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has undertaken “historic and unprecedented” development works over the past four and a half years, adding that people themselves are acknowledging the government’s performance.

During the programme, sports clubs and youth organisations sought the establishment of gym facilities in their villages. Arora assured them that their demands would be considered and addressed at the earliest.

Targeting the Congress, the Cabinet Minister alleged that the party was plagued by infighting and internal divisions. He claimed its leaders were focused on personal political interests rather than Punjab’s development and predicted that the Congress would fail to secure a double-digit tally in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

Responding to a question on Punjab’s militancy-era history and recent films, including one based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, Arora said Punjab had witnessed a painful period of violence in which many lives were lost. He said discussions on human rights and historical events should be approached responsibly while ensuring that the state’s communal harmony and peaceful atmosphere remain intact.

On the timing of the next elections, Arora said the decision rests with the Election Commission, adding that the AAP and its workers are always prepared to face the electorate on the basis of the government’s performance and development works.

Several local leaders, sarpanches, panches and residents were present during the outreach programme.
