Punjab CM Mann announces ex-gratia for victims of Hoshiarpur LPG tanker explosion
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each for the families of the two people who lost their lives in the LPG tanker explosion in Hoshiarpur’s Mandiala village.
The Chief Minister expressed grief over the incident and assured that the injured would receive free medical treatment.
In a post on X, Mann wrote, “A major accident occurred last night in Mandiala village of Hoshiarpur district due to the explosion of an LPG-filled tanker. Unfortunately, some people lost their lives and several others were injured. We pray for the peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured.”
He added that the Punjab government will extend all possible support to the affected families.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal also condoled the deaths, calling the incident “extremely tragic” and said the state government is ensuring all necessary assistance.
